GARLOCK GYLON EPIX

GYLON EPIX is the next generation in PTFE gasketing. This all-new patented material looks like no other gasket because it’s simply not like any other gasket. With it’s patented hexagonal surface profile GYLON EPIX combines best-in-class torque retention with exceptional conformability. This allows for a single thickness in nearly any application whether it be new or worn or pitted flanges.

Most gaskets fail because of an incorrect bolt load. In fact, over 83% of all gaskets fail because of this reason alone. GYLON EPIX helps overcome these challenges so that even if your bolt load isn’t perfect, your performance isn’t compromised.

GYLON EPIX comes in one universal thickness of 3/32″ (2.4mm) and can be used in a variety of stress requirements. Additionally, its hexagonal surface profile provides the torque retention and blowout resistance of a thin gasket with the conformability of a thicker gasket. GYLON EPIX is also made from the same materials as the standard GYLON products, eliminating the need for most customers to qualify the new GYLON EPIX products before purchase.

AVAILABLE GYLON EPIX MATERIALS

STYLE 3500 EPX

The Style 3500 EPX is a PTFE material made with a silica filler. It’s is a high performance, silica filled PTFE sheet material designed for use with strong acids, solvents, hydrocarbons, and other aggressive media. This fawn material is the same as the traditional GYLON yet comes in a single thickness that does the job of two. It has a seal performance and load retention equal of 1/16” and a compressibility and forgiveness/conformability of 1/8”. The 3500 EPX’s patented hex profile creates superb sealing and ability to conform to imperfect flange surfaces.

Typical applications of Style 3500 EPX include environments that deal with strong acids (except hydrofluoric acid), solvents, hydrocarbons, water, steam, chlorine, and cryogenics.

STYLE 3510 EPX

The Style 3510 EPX is a PTFE material made with Barium Sulfate Fillers. It’s designed for use in strong caustics and moderate acids where an extremely tight seal is critical. This off-white material is the same as the traditional GYLON yet comes in a single thickness that does the job of two. It has a seal performance and load retention equal of 1/16” and a compressibility and forgiveness/conformability of 1/8”. The 3510 EPX’s patented hex profile creates superb sealing and ability to conform to imperfect flange surfaces.

Typical applications of Style 3510 EPX include environments that deal with strong caustics, moderate acids, chlorine, gases, monomers, steam, hydrocarbons, cryogenics and aluminum fluoride.

STYLE 3504 EPX

The Style 3504 EPX is a PTFE material made with aluminosilicate microspheres. It’s designed for use use in moderate concentrations of acids, caustics, hydrocarbons, refrigerants, and more. This blue material is the same as the traditional GYLON yet comes in a single thickness that does the job of two. It has a seal performance and load retention equal of 1/16” and a compressibility and forgiveness/conformability of 1/8”. The 3504 EPX’s patented hex profile creates superb sealing and ability to conform to imperfect flange surfaces.

Typical applications of Style 3504 EPX include environments that deal with moderate concentrations of acids and some caustics, hydrocarbons, solvents, water, refrigerants, cryogenics and hydrogen peroxide.
