Gasket Supply offers two types of Fluoroelastomer Chemically Resistant sheet material.

TYPE 1:

Garlock FKM 9938 100% Fluoroelestomer is our most popular type. It handles most approved aggressive chemicals, whether they are acidic or alkaline.  FKM 9938 is excellent for steam service at approved operating temperatures and pressure ranges.

FKM offers all of the benefits and performance of Viton™ with one exception; some costly military certification.

Procedures and tests that are not needed in industrial manufacturing are not included in the price to the customer, resulting in a cost benefit to our customers.

Garlock FKM 9938 provides excellent sealing capabilities with all of the benefits and quality of Viton™ at a lower cost to the customer. It has an industry proven record for quality and is recognized worldwide for its excellent sealing performance in approved aggressive environments.

WARNING: Please check carefully with a professional in the sealing industry for compatibility between aggressive materials and conditions and the gasket or sheet material you are considering.

Viton™ is a registered trade name of The Chemours Company.

TYPE 2

Thermodyne TD-75-MI TYPE “A” Viton™ Fluoroelestomer is a virgin Viton™ sheet material. It is used when the specification requires Viton™ Type “A” only.  It handles most approved aggressive chemicals, whether they are acidic or alkaline.

While it is more expensive than the Garlock FKM material, it does have the additional certifications required in extremely rare industrial and military environments when Viton™ Type “A” is specified.

WARNING: Please check carefully with a professional in the sealing industry for compatibility between aggressive materials and conditions and the gasket or sheet material you are considering.
