Sponge Materials

Gasket Supply stocks and supplies a variety of  sponge materials from leading manufacturers for production of flexible seals, gaskets, and custom fabrication of other products and pieces. Each material exhibits different mechanical and physical properties and is available in a variety of densities and polymer variations. In addition to gasketing applications, foam and sponge materials can be used for seals, spacers, cabinet bumpers and adhesive backend tapes.

Gasket Supply can order sheets or rolls of sponge material. Or, work with us to cut your standard sized or custom gaskets for your project’s applications.

Sponge Materials

An excellent choice for applications that require resistance to UV, oxidation and ozone in long-term outdoor applications. Our series of closed cell Neoprene is a 100% Neoprene rubber and is available in Soft (SCE41NEO), Medium (SCE42NEO) and Firm (SCE43NEO) density and has a temperature range of -40°F to + 150°F.

Closed Cell EPDM

Closed Cell EPDM offers excellent resistance to ozone and oxidation and performs well in applications where temperatures can range from -70°F to + 220°F. Our series of closed cell EPDM is 100% EPDM rubber and is available in a soft (RE41EPT) and a medium (RE42EPT) density.

Closed Cell Nitrile (Buna-N)

Closed Cell Nitrile (Buna-N) is an excellent gasket material for sealing applications that require fuel, oil and UV resistance. Closed Cell Nitrile has a high resistance to vegetable oil, animal oil, and mineral oil. and performs well as a gasket or sealing material in petroleum-based applications. Our series of Closed Cell Nitrile is a 100% Nitrile rubber with a temperature range of -40°F to + 250°F and is available in a soft (C41NBR), medium (C42NBR) and a firm (C43NBR) density.

Closed Cell Silicone

Closed Cell Silicone offers excellent sealing qualities, plus compression set, flame, ozone, and UV resistance. This high-end Closed Cell Silicone is widely used for demanding applications and is excellent for applications that will be exposed to extreme temperatures ranging from -103°F to + 450°F. Silicone Closed Cell sponge is available in soft, medium, firm and extra firm densities as well as available in low compression set, flame retardant, and fiberglass reinforced grades.

Closed Cell ECH (Epichlorohydrin)

ECH offers excellent fuel and chemical resistance and performs well in applications where temperature can range from -40°F to 300°F. ECH is supplied in a soft density (AG-5162), medium soft density (AG-5163), medium density (AG-5164) and extra firm density (AG-5166).

Closed Cell EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate)

Closed Cell EVA is light weight and odorless. This foam exhibits good mechanical strength, excellent chemical resistance, high buoyancy, low water absorption, and good acoustic properties. Closed Cell EVA foam can be supplied in 2# (AG-2011) and 4# (AG-4911) densities and demonstrates excellent climate, temperature, and aging resistance in outdoor applications.

Closed Cell Neoprene/EPDM

Closed Cell Neoprene / EPDM sponge is an excellent general purpose gasketing material that can be used in both indoor and outdoor sealing applications which may see temperatures as low as -40° F and as high as + 250° F. Our Closed Cell Neoprene / EPDM sponge is both UL-94- HF-1 and FMVSS-302 listed and works well in gasketing applications that will be exposed to oils, ozone, sunlight and oxidation. This material is supplied in a soft density (AGSCE41M), medium-soft density (AGSCE42M), medium density (AGSCE43M), firm density (AGSCE44M) and an extra firm density (AGSCE45M).

Closed Cell Neoprene/EPDM/SBR

Closed Cell Neoprene/EPDM/SBR combines the best qualities of these three polymers which creates an excellent gasket material used in many diverse indoor and outdoor applications. Neoprene/EPDM/SBR Closed Cell sponge is resistant to ozone, sunlight, and oxidation. This material meets UL157, UL50E, UL50, UL48, UL508 AND UL94HF-1 and are available in a soft (SCE41B), medium soft (SCE42B), medium (SCE43B) and extra firm (SCE45B) density. Neoprene/EPDM/SBR Closed Cell sponge performs well in applications that range in temperature from -40°F to + 200°F.

Closed Cell PVC/Nitrile

Closed Cell PVC / Nitrile sponge combines excellent energy / impact / shock absorbing properties and good chemical resistance. Closed cell PVC / Nitrile sponge is available in five grades MLC (4 pcf), MLC-2 (4 pcf), AHC (7pcf), SCC (12 pcf) and SSC (12 pcf). Depending on the grade, our PVC / Nitrile closed cell sponge meets ASTM D 1056-68, 1056-85, 91, 98, 07, ASTM-D-6576-07 Type 2 Grade A & B Condition soft, UL 94 HF-1, UL 94 HBF, UL 94 V0, and FMVSS-302. Closed Cell PVC / Nitrile sponge is designed for applications where temperatures can range between -40°F to + 200°F.

Closed Cell Neoprene/PVC/Nitrile
